Egyptian Army Flag

Hello and Welcome to Memoirs of an army soldier.

In this blog you will find the bitter and sweeter moments of my life as a soldier in the Egyptian Air Force “serving my country” in a mandatory service that should beΒ fulfilled!!!!

So far I came to the conclusion that I will divide this story into two chapters:

Chapter one: will discuss my days in boot camp, a whole month of unproductive torture and some good moments that I may forgot to mention, but don’t worry I will dedicate a bonus post(s) for unmentioned or forgotten events.

Chapter two: will discuss the days in my unit which I will serve in and spend a whole year in, till my recruitment period ends in March 2013.

I hope you will like these stories, and am always open to suggestions πŸ™‚

feel free to feedback on anything πŸ™‚

enjoy the ride πŸ™‚

  1. Woah!!!

You’ve really spend hours and more hours on this blog page. I can see all the Sweat of your hard work. πŸ™‚

Wonderfully done. Here are a few add ons to make it better :

    1. Your Top menu contains “Home” and “Welcome” page. The home page should either be removed as there is nothing in it, or it should direct to the main page of your blog.

P.S: When I click on “Click here to continue”, the redirected page does not open. Please check your link.

    2. I assume “Chapter One” and “Chapter Two” are Pages and not categories. It would be more easy to navigate if you created two categories named “Chapter One” and “Chapter Two” and then created sub-categories like Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and so on. So when we mouse over to chapter one it will show us a drop down menu to navigate which Day of your life we want to read about πŸ™‚

    3. Your menu should also contain a link to your ahmedkhalifa.wordpress.com.

    4. The side bar column should get rid of unnecessary widgets. It could use more useful widget like “Recent Posts”, “Top Posts”, “Stats”, “Recent Comments” , “FaceBook Like Box” etc.

I hope that was useful. Keep up the good work πŸ™‚

    • AhmadKhalifa

  2. Awesome. Looks fantastic and clean now.

Good job army man. Mission Accomplished πŸ™‚

Why didn’t you make the categories drop down in the top menu under Chapter One?

    • AhmadKhalifa

i think i did…but in case u didnt find it plz tell me how to make it drop down from menu
i made a parent “chapter one” and sub categories under it

  3. ummm okay… I guided another blogger so I will just copy paste it here :

To Create A Drop Down Menu :

    Appearance > Menus >

    Step 1 :

On the right hand side, click on “+” to add a menu. Give your Menu a name. Lets say “My Menu.”
Next, on your left hand side you will see Pages, Links And Categories.

From Pages, select which ever page you would like to have in your Top Menu.

Links are pages that will lead to other sites…(you already have “life in a nutshell”)

Categories are the actual “Pages” of the menu…. You will see that the categories you made are already listed. Click on “View All”… Mark the categories you want as menu item and then add it to menu.

    Step 2 :

You can drag drop the items and arrange them in the manner you like…. If you want any item to appear as a drop down menu, simply drag and drop it below that item leaving a tab space so that it forms a nested hierarchy.

Like I have “Blogs”… I placed “bits of my life” “heart giggles” “dark feelings” etc under “Blog” after a tab space….

    Step 3 :

The last block would be “Theme Locations”

Your theme supports at least one Menu. It will give you a drop down option to choose which menu u wud like to have.

Select the menu you just made… “My Menu” as we called it before…

    …………………

If you are confused over something, let me know. I tried my best though 😦 But I will still be ready to explain further until mission is accomplished πŸ˜›

    • AhmadKhalifa

      u r the best πŸ˜€
take another look and tell me if there’s still something missing πŸ˜€
after that enjoy the ride πŸ˜€

  4. Perfect πŸ˜€

That would be 100$ for the guide πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

    • AhmadKhalifa

      thanks alooooooot ash πŸ˜€
i hope u will enjoy those memoirs πŸ˜€
am now writing my days in the unit πŸ˜€
pray for me so i can remember them πŸ˜€

      • Here is my bank account number : 007007007007007 πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Make sure you transfer the amount in installments. My bank people will suspect where this huge amount is coming from, specially from an Army person πŸ˜›
They may suspect me of planning another world disorder. And you see I don’t want to go in the jail again. Just served up 10 years for torture theft. πŸ™‚

      • AhmadKhalifa

        hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa πŸ˜€

        all right Mr. Bond πŸ˜€

installments are set and the first one is on its way πŸ˜€

and dont worry discretion is my middle name πŸ˜€
